Cultivar Client Aeristech wins Shell Innovation Award
2010-03-02
Birmingham based start-up Aeristech arose from an engineering masters project with University of Birmingham.
It soon needed to develop its initial ideas and designs into business plans, and market itself within the European automotive sector. Key to its development programme was the ability to attract investors for its new environmentally friendly “Hybrid Turbocharger” The company turned to James Rock of Cultivar Consulting for assistance. Subsequently James helped the management team to develop their business strategy, write formal business plans, and develop presentations for them to approach business angels and other investors. The partnership proved successful in attracting initial funding from early investors and grant bodies. By 2009 the company had completed prototype testing and moved on to application development with engine development programmes at two key European vehicle manufacturers.
Now the company has just won regional first prize in the Shell Springboard Awards for its innovative, low carbon business idea - including a £40,000 cash prize providing additional development funding. It has also secured Carbon Trust grants to support its environmental technology. The company will now go forward to compete
for the National Shell Springboard trophy on 2nd March. For more information about the company visit their website: - www.aeristech.co.uk
